S Meter Lite Antenna Pattern Plot Dialog Box

This dialog box is used to adjust and display an antenna pattern plot. The dialog box can be resized by grabbing a corner and dragging the window to a new size. Before you can generate useful results, you must capture the raw data on the data graph portion of the main window, between two Mark Points. More detailed information is contained  on the Antenna Pattern Plot page.

Coordinate System

Select the radial axis coordinate system. Use the drop-down list to make your choice.

Sweep (360º)

Specifies that the captured data represents the complete 360 degrees of the pattern (a full circle).

Sweep (180º)

Specifies that the captured data represents 180 degrees, or one-half of the pattern. This option can be used to decrease the time it takes to perform a data capture when you have a known symmetric antenna. It is assumed that the sweep will cover only one side of the antenna, moving between the front and the back (or, back to front).

Reverse Direction

Draw the antenna pattern in the opposite direction around the circular graph. This control can be useful when you are capturing data by rotating the test antenna in both directions, but you want the data to appear as if the antenna was always rotated in a single direction.

Center

By default, S Meter Lite automatically determines the strongest part of the antenna signal, and places that at 0 degrees (pointing to the top of the screen). If its selection and orientation is not what you prefer, use this control to adjust the pattern in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. You adjust the control by clicking on the up and down buttons. The amount of adjustment is displayed.

Mark 1 Adj.

Adjust the Mark 1 point in the captured data. You adjust the control by clicking on the up and down buttons. The amount of adjustment is displayed.

Mark 2 Adj.

Adjusts the Mark 2 point in the captured data. You adjust the control by clicking on the up and down buttons. The amount of adjustment is displayed.

Set Title

Brings up a simple dialog box that allows you to set or change the plot title. The title is placed in the upper-left corner of the plot.

OK

Close the window.

Copy

A copy of the bitmap containing the antenna pattern plot is placed on the system Clipboard. Use the Paste command in another application to retrieve the image.
